  7. Coulda asked to save the meat from the elk....or had it donated to the local homeless group, they love getting 'large' donations. But yea living in Elk country myself i always drive slow in ccertain spots where I know the regularly cross. Same goes for my Blacktail family that lives around the property... I am glad yer alright but ya they can do lots of damage.

  9. Thanks for the advice guys, I am thinking of running a torch lightly around the clutch assembly to warm it up next time.
  10. no this wasnt a problem last winter and I ran it the same way , infrequently. So it makes me wonder if its the start of a fresh issue
  11. I've only owned it a couple years if that now, and its not used on a daily basis I only use it when I an forge welding or prepping billets no idea how it was used by the guy before me.
  12. I had an odd occurrence happen yesterday, I havent run my LG in a couple months and went to start it up yesterday and everything 'seemed' to be running correctly. I stepped on the arm to engage the hammer and nothing happened. I stepped harder it did nothing, Finally I started rocking the flywheel and eventually it engaged and started working properly. Could it have been the cold or something bigger?
  13. If I read this correctly you have some 'steel' tools you want to Heat Treat then Temper? or just Heat Treat and use? Could be I just am not understanding because I just woke up....

  16. Gah!, I thought about that very thing driving home with a full 24 gallons of propane and the oxy/acet tanks in the rear, would have made a heckuva mess.

John, it is a circular saw anvil, no welds or seams or cut marks. It is a job specific anvil, came out of a saw mill south of me and lived and was used at a Saw Docs Shop till he was forced to retire.
  20. I've seen the design before, they use the same handle design for adzes and other hand tools, if it works cool use it. its a simple design and has worked for thousands of years, I dont see anything wrong at all with using it.
