Well I was just looking for something that would not leave toxic residues that might get caught on the blade even after washing. even after washing sometimes things still stick to surfaces..

Does anyone know of a food safe polishing compound?

To me it looks like it was chopped in half drilled and bolt mounted to some wood. Just how it looks, long as it works no big deal.

Just me but buts of this and that coming off material are more likely to happen than crumbling of an anvil face I would think unless ya bought one falling apart already. I take it someone sued over spalling already somewhere over there? Heck I took some hot scale in the eyelid earlier but thats just hazards of the trade.

Thank you guys, its just slow going being subject to the whims of weather working outside, but I just picked up a 12 inch file, so hopefully that will go faster now, I was using a small 8 inch one. Yea even at 6'4 its a touch long for me That must be some wwork you did, I haven't gotten brave enough yet to Sammich steel yet....itll be in the future though.

My 125 lber looks almost exactly like that except on the front foot it has a B and a buncha numbers...someone told me its a trenton though...maybe he is wrong?

I've been working on a rather oversized Katana for some time now, given my limitations it takes me a while to work on things. Please bear in mind it is still rough and is a WIP. The overall length is 3' 11 ", and the blade obviously is the 3 foot section. I am still working as best I can as much as I can on refining it but...its slow since I am hand filing as I was taught.

I really like the wrap job you did for the handle.

I've run into one like that myself, really made me not want to have anything to do with the person ever again. Most folks are cool with sharing info heck its not always about competition its about sparking creativity. If I had let this person discourage me I wouldnt be in mid file on a 3 foot Katana I have going.

If you dont like the Immigration Laws as they are you can always lobby for changes, but as they stand now coming to the US illegally and taking jobs from people who need them here do not win them any friends. And if I remember correctly you wanted to see what they were hiring as a blacksmith, and after you hear a sob story from the guy you suddenly became their champion. You wanted to see what took the job from you and see what kinda shoddy job they would do that might get your work back. They undercut your prices and worked for a longer time straight than you and your assistant would.

Ya a sword is a up close and last resort weapon with zombies, better off in a high place with long range rifle as they get closer get a couple Glock 17's with a few high Cap magazines. Heck even I have a .45 but 8 shots vs 15-30 in zombie days could be the difference between bite and no bite :P

Not very jealous at all since I recognize who that is and he sells lots of anvils on ebay, he is one of those sell at the highest price folks.
