  1. Good to know that people still value hand crafted hardware. Really nice work. thanks for the photo's. p.
  2. Hey, just found some of these replies. Thanks. I'll try preparing the steel more, and less flux and not hitting so hard. I know the metal was clean so I'll keep going. thanks for the resource info also.
  3. I'm wondering if it's imperative that the exhaust from the forge goes straight up. Mine goes up a flu that goes out thru' a hole in the wall. So it's not completely straight and when the wind is blowing I get kickback. Trying to avoid cutting a hole in the roof. Any comments? thanks. P.

  4. won't get much polishing done on that wheel before it fray's into nothingness! any idea's on a better way to polish the iron? really. thanks eat wheel. pb
  5. I have a buffing wheel but when I put anything to it, it just spins threads all over the shop. What part am I missing? need wax, no good for steel? I mean it did come with the grinding wheel set up. thanks. P. Briel
  6. Hi, I've been reading and trying to forge weld with no success. Clean Iron, not much oxygen as they say, Flux, and molten metal... still no success. Would love to hear what there is to say. It's not you. It's tricky is my guess.
  7. I just signed on to this forum and have tons of questions. Starting with, the horn on my anvil is very thick and has a blunt tip, I find I'd like to have a more pointed tip. What is the horn usually used for? I also have a bick anvil so I go back and forth. Is that normal? just a question. PBriel
