Does anyone out there have any idea how a planer blade forge welded between two layers of cable damascus should behave at welding heat? I thought it was a good way to use up some old blades, but the planer blade got up to heat before the cable and started to burn out. I'm still playing around with it and may have some useful knife material left after a bit of grinding.
