  1. Any metal for any reason is better none - use it. You will learn many things.
  2. Love the hinges - simple but very useful!
  3. Great for your first trip out - looks older than it is, but should work well! Tim
  4. Hang tuff Bentiron!! PM your way - Tim
  5. Rich, your work never ceases to amaze. The quest for perfection is never done, no matter how close one gets. Tim
  6. It's always a good thing to take an old girl who's been worked hard and get her cleaned up for the next dance. You've done a great job, enjoy and thanks for sharing. Tim
  7. In spite of your other problems, it is wonderful that your heart is working as it should. Prayers up from Vegas for you and your wife! God is always good and rewards us in ways that we don't always recognize.
  8. Thin walled box channel with repouse'ed sides and a square plug for the bottom - or how about spinning one out of a thin sheet or hydraulic press used on a thin square of your favorite metal using a long rounded point pressing into a collar.
  9. It's well done and you've nothing to be apologizing for. I know that it's normal to be critical of our own work, but think back to when you couldn't do a petal, let alone worry about how to connect all of it together ...
  10. The human voice is the most profound of instruments, there is no doubt about that. This left me in tears - the young man is head and shoulders above his partner in skill, and his rebuttal to Simon proves the love, honor and character of the young man. It's wonderful - thanks for sharing!!
  11. Even more prayers up from Vegas -
  12. Hello from Las Vegas! It's good to have you here with the rest of the addicts. Tim
  13. I put the video forward because I thought it was interesting - even though the "treatment" offered as a BS theme really is off center for those who understand. Tim
  14. Sounds like a great project for a slow day - and if you really want to make a truly Rube Goldberg piece get an old sewing machine treadle for your power source
  15. Really well done Beth - and ditto on all the preceding compliments - your skill is showing through !!
  16. Double WOW!! It's all there, bicks, forge, striker, specialty tongs, calluses, etc., etc. And all done with nary a single piece of safety equipment. Seems too that the hammers used to forgeweld such large material weren't all that heavy.
  17. Haven't seen a copper ashtray for 20 years . . . well done!
  18. Love Spike Jones - used to see him on the TV years ago!!
  19. There is another site that I visit from time to time, "The Art of Manliness" and I found a video there that I thought you would find interesting - it is the winner in a contest they had ... hope you enjoy. I believe the message outways the mistakes concerning blacksmithing. Tim
  20. Howz that happen?? What do they do with a $500+ vise? Will it really look that good in the flower garden?
