  1. the rebound is very good on this anvil. around 65 or better. it is cast steel. i have seen other anvils with a horn like this one but the were in industrial shops. mostly war era shops.
  2. the anvil weighs 198 lbs, 24" long, face is 14.5" long and 5" wide, stands 11.5" tall. i think it is a Brook&Cooper anvil but not sure. can anyone help thank you jk matthews
  3. I have acquired a half full 55gal barrel of Carbonizing material ( free is free) it appears to be hard charcoal or maybe coke. I do not think it has to be stored anyway special, right now it is in a cardboard barrel and I need to reduce it's foot print. Before I transfer it to 5 gal pails is anyone aware of anything special in hows it stored?
  4. help: i have a chance to get a 55 gal barrel 2/3 full of quenchtex "A" what would be a good price for it? john 828-645-2109
