I am in the planning stage of building my first forge and have a question: What's the difference between Kaowool and Durablanket? Why would I choose one over the other? So far I'm trying to choose between a steel paint bucket or a freon bottle for the shell. Thanks. Karma

Brand spankin new to Blacksmithing, ain't even got a fire going yet. But I'm reading and trying to learn as much as I can. Been interested in this for quite some time, just hadn't had the chance to get going. Interested in blades from the pioneer and mountain man eras.
