Goodness, how many wheels and belts did it take to make that shape and shine! I assume you were preheating it so you could weld the face on?

Nice bit (and by bit I mean LARGE HUNK) of work.

I see from your other work that this is not your first rodeo -

What is the anticipated final weight of the finished anvil?

Pleasing to my eye.

The horn took an afternoon, starting with a 9" grinder and then a 5" flex disk and a french curve.

I wanted it to look like an anvil, just because i could.

Its about 90kg

Thanks

It does NOT look like an anvil; it looks like 1 type of anvil; some have perfect cone horns, some have variants of that shape some have no horns.

Apples and oranges are fruit.

Apples look like fruit.

Oranges looks like fruit

The anvil DOES look like an anvil.

The anvil DOES look like a certain type of anvil.

It's beautifully done; but if your goal is to get smithing it's way more than was necessary and linked more to reproducing an old look.  An analogy would be: building your own car from scrap parts---you don't need to build  a Packard with an inline 12 cylinder engine to get a working car. (It would be impressive I admit!)

I think many here are missing the point. Obviously you could buy an anvil like they did. You built this and it's a work of art. Nice job!
