craig Posted March 6, 2011 I like them "thingies"! Whatcha use em for? I haven't used them but the idea I had in my head was that you could tap them into some trees to hang a tarp or whatever if you're camping or out in the woods...I got the idea from some tent stakes i had seen somewhere, but most of these would be too short for tent stakes. NotVeryGood Posted March 7, 2011 Hello. They are pitons (peee-tons). They were used in rock climbing. They get pounded into cracks of the rock, for protection, and for aid climbing. Newer versions of those are still in use today. Quote Link to comment

CurlyGeorge Posted March 16, 2011 I like the idea of being able to drive them into a tree trunk to tie rope or a tarp to. Thanks for sharing, Craig. :) Quote Link to comment
craig Posted March 16, 2011 When I thought about it afterwards...you COULD just tie the rope directly to the tree...but it's too late now, they're already made :P Quote Link to comment
cracked Posted May 8, 2012 I made a set of "Viking" tentpegs that were Very similar to these for a reenactor mate of mine. Quote Link to comment
