Not official Brisbane Blacksmiths Association specifically, but just wondering if there are any regular forum members here at the moment who are from Brisbane, Australia (like me)?

I know there are Facebook groups (I'm in a fair few of them) but I find discussion etc are easy to lose down your feed too quickly on Facebook, which is why I come here where things are well organised and more easily searchable.

The annual ...Get Hammered….at Moony’s 2011 Braidwood NSW.
Bring your own suppies, ie; camping bedding and your favorite tong and hammer a donation of coke fuel steel , on Saturday, dinner is a Hungi. (10 forging stations and of course, the monster machinery and asst hydraulics

Fixed dates for the weekend and week, to be sorted yet, although we will be there for the month.

Half hour west of Dalby, Qld..

Hand crank or own powered forges, bring long leads to keep gen sets away from camp area.

Byo everything.....caravan, tent, camper van, ok.
Water will be avail, for showers, washing up etc,

Camping, forging, bludging, eating,
We will be doing the slaughtered beast again,
Or the live skinning and cooking of fresh vegetables for non meat eating persons.

(do the 5 klm bush walk, or 10klm if you want to get back)
Making charcoal, live entertainment, with your own guitar.

Everything is open air....
Freezer on site
Kitchen Sink
Baths/camp shower on site
Toilet/thunder box
Coke available on site

If you want to, or can help with preparatory trips helping move and make forges, coke, camping gear and materials and or whatever else out for the week, let us know.

Club members/friends, and blacksmiths camping forging week.
BYO all you can, camper van and caravans ok, or tent city.( we'll be in a tent ). Only 35 mins from the local town. If you Need a lift let us know and we'll see what we can organise. Greyhound do busses and we can pick you up from town if you chuck some fuel in.

My name is Asphodel and I am a member of the Brisbane pagan community. I am just wondering if there are any masters who would be interested in teaching an eager individual how to blacksmith. I realise that this may be a sensitive subject to christian peoples out there and for that I do apologise. There is a MASSIVE demand for quality ritual equipment ie cauldrons, athame (ritual knives used to direct energy not for physical cut) and etcetera. If there is anyone in the brisbane area who would interested in casually apprenticing me so that i can learn to create these objects please contact me.

A quickie twisted hook from some thread from me,..(Jasson's donation of half a ton of off cuts), a tin smithing hammer from Neil.. A rustic knife by Stewart, ,...Paul with a tomahawk from a rail nail...nice upsetting and slitting…. Bitta guidance from Wayne for a young bloke new to the fire...BBQ...
broken top tool, as an example not to harden the whole tool...

next meets are 2nd and 23rd April

Gates open for public at 0900, we're in at 0600. (forges, anvils, yada yada, crane truck from here)

Heritage displays, plus Heavy and Light Horse Cav displays. all funds raised will go to flood assistance.

so far, Grommet and I are in.

dunno what the finnish time is yet, so plan for the day.

it was on, now the hyd tank and pump is on and plumbed, just waiting for the 24vdc alternator, some batteries, solenoids, and some wiring (one or two pays and or a few jobs :P ). sure beats the hand pump crane.
5.8ltr f150, 3.6mtr tray, grommet showing off the 2 t CRANE! ...and a par...tridge in a pear...
