  1. Welcome Miss Rocky. I remember seeing you on the video. That is nice looking work. Keep listening to your dad. You will make a great blacksmith.
  2. I have not tried shaving with a straight razor yet. I understand there is a learning curve to it. I use a Gillete Red Tip double edged razor. You can check out some discussion on shaving at http://www.badgerandblade.com. I would also like to see pictures of straights anyone has forged.
  3. Thanks for the idea. I just finished my stand using your idea. Now I just need to try it out.
  4. I have searched for the answer with no results. If there is an older post please let me know and I will look for it. I have what I believe is a Mousehole anvil. The weight markings are 1 . 1 . 17 so it is 157#. I can see there are some markings above the weight but I can't quite make them out. I have tried flour, chalk and rubbing on paper with a pencil. I have rubbed the area with a wet cloth. I have seen enough to believe I have the word Armitage. What other method can I use to pull out the faint markings? Thanks for the help. You have all taught me a lot already.
  5. I have joined and attended the Wiregrass Forge meeting today. Will have to try and make the Conference.
  6. Hello, My name is Lee. I am in South Alabama and just getting started smithing. I have purchases a Mousehole anvil and a rivet forge with a Champion 400 blower. I still have to set all of this up and start my first fire. I look forward learning much from everyone here.
