I have 7 of those blowers on the forges in the school.
They have more air than you will ever need.
You will still need an air gate.
I also prefer a hand crank but have all electric blowers on the forges that students use.
You may be able to see them in some photos at
www.http://blacksmithguildofva.com
or
www.http://yesteryearschool.com
They are easily mounted and have a plug in type cord and a switch already on the motor
Blacksmith depot are good people too.

30 August 2010 - 08:17 PM
We now have an outdoor forging station under the big oaks
Come on out and enjoy a day in the shade watching blacksmithing
Everyone that attends and signs in will recieve a slip to put in the hat
At the conclusion of the demo we will draw a slip and if it is yours you win the items demonstrated. ( no charge )
Since i'm the first to do this i'll do my absloute best to totally finish a fire place set within the time alloted for the demo ( with the help of Peyton as my apprentice ) doing some of the wire brushing, drilling holes , painting etc.
Should be a fast paced interesting day for all in attendance.
Remember to bring something for iron in the hat.
Lunch available ( hot dogs )
Or you can go out get something at a local eatery
Looking forward to seeing you there

The hardy hole looks square down inside
I think It just looks round around the edges because it is proprely dressed and the angle of the photo.

I made a hot cut like that
Much more efficient than a straight edge.

Peyton is doing well
You probally wont see him here anymore as he has been BANNED
You can reach him through the school site or the guild site if you would like.
