Lewis Meyer, Falls City Ironworks, Louisville, KY

I've been doing this for close to twenty years. I've been self employed since 1997 and I recently bought an old blacksmith shop in downtown Louisville, KY. I'm sorting through a hundred years of other smiths accumulation buried under my two decades worth, so it's a mess; Visitors are welcome, but it's at your own risk.

I build a lot of small furniture and light fixtures and the occasional architectural piece.

I got started working for Craig Kaviar; followed by a few years of working on my own which led to an apprenticeship at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, TN. That was a real treasure, I got to meet and work with smiths from all over the country and the world. Worked for a couple of other smiths in Memphis on a few projects before setting up my shop in Louisville.
