On the weekend of Sept 11-12 I took a class at Cloverdale Forge (http://cloverdalefarm.ca/forge), run by Matt Jenkins.
I had only used my homemade propane forge before, so after using a coal forge for a few hours, there were 2 main thoughts going through my head: "Man, this fire sure gets the metal hot quick and localized!" followed...

Hello everyone!
Since all I had as tools were a piece of rail track and some random hammers, I got lazy and haven't done much since finishing my blown propane forge (build pics and description to come). But Saturday, I got a breakthrough!

Hello World!
I just read tomcellwheel’s thread <http://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/16041-a-hopeful-future-blacksmith/> and I realized keeping a journal would be an EXTREMELY useful thing to do. So here it is!
I’ll be documenting the builds of my propane forge, my anvil and stand, my tool rack and eventually my projects.
