RobbieG
Hi what mixture ratio do you use when making up rigidiser from fumed silica and water? I have previously bought premixed but its expensive so just wondering how much dry powder I need to buy, thanks!
Mikey98118
Some guys here have a favorite ratio, and with a little luck one of them will post it one more time. Meanwhile you need to understand that, do to the nature of the ingreadients you are talking about, it's pretty hard to actually get it wrong. So long as the mixture remains thin enough to pass through a spritzer nozzle on a cleaner bottle, you're golden. If it's too thin, you just need to do more spritzing. timgunn1962
The last commercial colloidal silica rigidizer I used had a density of about 1100 grams/litre. I've not yet tried making my own with fumed silica but I took the density measurement with a view to doing so.
Mikey98118
I like that, Tim; it's as precise as someone who is looking for certainty could ask for
