Old Beginnings
Hi guys.... I found this 200# h&m in Tacoma Washington state. What's it worth and is it worth buying
C-1ToolSteel
Absolutely if it's in good condition. Wait a minute, I thought it was an A&H. Don't know anything about H&M. Sorry. Most any 200lb anvil is worth $300 though.
ThomasPowers
Save for cast iron ASO's which are worth about US$20. Need picture of the anvil!

C-1ToolSteel
Maybe he means M&H Armitage Mouse Hole Forge. In that case, I'd say it would probably be worth it.

Old Beginnings
Yes it's a m&h... Armitage and it says something about naval? Here it is guys... it's 200lbs. Well probably not exactly. But what is the value with it having the naval background? I read too that an anvils price depends on the state you have it in. I'm in Tacoma Washington
C-1ToolSteel
Not sure about the "naval" thing, but it appears to be a pre 1830 mouse hole in really good shape. Definitely worth the $300 if you ask me.
JHCC
Worth every penny. I've been using a practically identical (if slightly lighter) M&H Armitage MH for over thirty years, and it's served me very well.
Tubalcain2
it's in great condition for a mousehole, most i've seen are pretty bad. for 300 bucks, i would say go for it.
