setlab
I've tried to email him a few times at clay@tirehammer.com and the mailer demon has gotten it every single time. Does anyone have a good email for him?
ThomasPowers
I believe that there is no good email for Clay as he is a fellow who just doesn't use it much. So how would you have contacted him in pre-internet days?
setlab
Ya but that like requires me to talk to people and stuff.
ThomasPowers
First you get some damp clay and use your hands to mold it into tablets.... I was recently remarking on another forum about the days when the internet was all ascii based---remember rec.crafts.metalworking and the RFP for a blacksmithing group? JHCC
I hear he responds well to carrier pigeon. But wait...carrier pigeons only carry messages to their home roosts...so you'd have to get one of his pigeons...so you'd have to send him an email to ask for a carrier pigeon... ... Never mind. ThomasPowers
And they are not nearly as tasty as the passenger pigeons were!
notownkid
Do I presume there is no Snail Mail to his location so maybe use todays modern Tech ie internet to look up old tech, phone and address. Maybe he doesn't want to be communicated with.
Michael Cochran
I just spoke with him yesterday at my local meeting. First time I've met him and he was a delightful ole man. If you're needin plans for his tire hammer then you need to get in touch with someone else. Last I heard he doesn't deal with that anymore. setlab
Hope he gave someone else permission to sell plans then, that would be a shame to let disappear. Next time I'm that way I guess I'll invest in a few stamps to send his way, don't really want to blow his phone up with probably another call from a random tire hammer plan inquiry. Michael Cochran
I just did some diggin and found myself to be in the wrong earlier, you still order plans from Clay. They cost $30 now and he lives in Somerville Alabama. Hope that helps. Btw send a money order not cash. It would be a shame to lose the money in the mail. Glenn
Clay Spencer personally returned my phone call with just a few hours. His web server crashed and he is using the following email address clay at otelco.net . He said if you need to talk directly with him to use his cell phone 256-five five eight - 3658, both of which he said I could post as public information He is still THE source for power hammer plans.
