T.J.watts
Well I used the anvil for a bit today and it works great. The ring is nice but not to loud and the rebound is good. All in all I'm really happy with it and now I'm contemplating a smaller one for traveling. Even though I've already said I would build one again, if the second turns out as good I'll be set. T.J.watts
Thanks guys, the top plate is the bottom flange from heavy gauge rail. The body is 50k and the horn is 1018. It's actually seven pieces with lots and lots of welding.

So there would be a gap between the plate and the body. Is that right? Are you worried about that?
Charles R. Stevens
Nope, Falsevaccume. The bottom flange of the rail provides a nice taper and TJ fully welded it with 7xx wire. I think the feet are peremiter welded but the face and horn are full penitration welds.

That's pretty impressive! That must have been a heck of a lot of welding. Thanks!
