Urthman
I made this for my wife for Christmas. Not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it. :)
njanvilman
We all had to take our first steps. Looks fine by me.
2ballcain357
I think it looks darn good... But then again it doesn't matter if we like it...does your wife like it ? That's all that matters.
jay_cat
I looks great. One question though, how will you mount it? I don't see any mounting holes.
Urthman
Correct! No holes drilled for mounting yet. Was debating whether to do holes at top and bottom (exposed) or under the knocker itself to hide them. Leaning towards the latter...
Frosty
Looks pretty darned good. Of COURSE she loves it, the Mrs. AS to love anything we make for them, it's part of the deal. Of course we can't say anything about the new Duvette, carpet. . . <grin> Frosty The Lucky.

Urthman
Thanks all! The wife does indeed like it, and yes that's all that really matters :) Was a very fun project, and I think I may officially have the Addiction. The more I make, the more I want to make... VaughnT
Looks like a great design, to me. I like the flare you added to the back plate. Gives me a few ideas.......
Alan Evans
Correct! No holes drilled for mounting yet. Was debating whether to do holes at top and bottom (exposed) or under the knocker itself to hide them. Leaning towards the latter... The bottom fixing can be a bolt with a domed or otherwise worked head and be positioned under the striking point and combine function as an anvil. It efficiently transfers the knock directly to the door rather than via the back plate…. If it is a square shanked coach bolt and you fitted it well it may be sufficient to hold the knocker upright on its own. Alan
