Everything Mac
Afternoon all - I have been wondering more and more if I might be able to send myself on some type of journeyman "course" - i.e. spend a little bit of time here and there with a few smiths around the country. I've contacted a couple of smiths already and had good feedback. Any other smiths out there fancy having an extra pair of hands for a couple of days? I work offshore and as such my time at home is sporadic and intermittent - as such I'd need to arrange it for some time next year. I don't expect to be thrown in at the deep end - I'd be quite happy just being shop boy/ sweep/ heavy lifter for a couple of days. Please send me a pm if you can help/ point me in the right direction. Regards Andy

KRS
178 - (everyone that is not from england) - (every hobby smith) = ? I would keep calling shops, that way you can plan your route better and it shows more interest. I wish you the best of luck for your tour, take some pictures and post a travel log :)
Everything Mac
Thanks KRS, I shall. I've had a couple of positive replies and a few offers over on the BABA Facebook page. I was just surprised at the lack of response on here... All the best Andy
ianinsa
Andy, with a few notable exceptions I have found that UK smiths are not nearly as hospitable as those from the new world, that said it might be a 'long drive' for you but smiths are always welcome here!
