Karn3
I saw a picture of this, and thought it would be a good test of my abilities. The resulting object is extremely pleasing, and has some M C Escher qualities to it. It's really fun to look at it from different angles and roll it around. The very same qualities that made it extremely difficult to photograph properly! What do you guys and/or gals think? http://imgur.com/a/Zf3YP
Broomhead
That is really cool! I like that a lot. Would it be big enough to set a bowl on, or level enough to put a round sheet of glass on to make a small table?
01tundra
Very nice work. I was thinking possibly hammering out a metal dish and using it as a candle stand base :D
Frosty
I really like it Karn, it captures all you envisioned and has the tactile allure wrought iron has as a nature of the craft. I'd love to hold it, give it a good brailling. I think I'll copy your picture for my to do book. I think it'd be a perfect coffee table piece, something folk can look at, move, feel, rap with a wooden striker to listen to and just generally explore by whatever means they like. I'm very taken with it, thanks for the inspiration. Frosty The Lucky.

Chinobi
looks really neat! I think we can add another item to the collective theft deterrent suite too; forged caltrops! change that nice safe upset end to a rusty point and scatter a handful of those around the shop entrance when you go on vacation
VaughnT
Excellent work. I really like the way it seems to draw the eye all around it, never letting you rest on any one spot. All the little details are wonderfully done. You're right that it's a very good exercise to test most of the basic skills needed by a smith. I'm going to have to give it a go.
