I started hobby blacksmithing 35 years ago at my granddads shop. Played with it on and off over the years and finaly gotten a little more serious about it. My goal is to learn forge welding on a gas forge. I've had a little success with coal, very little. Part of the challenge is finding a good supply of good coal. Tomorrow I'm going to join Michigan artist blacksmith association.
