ThomasPowers Posted October 27, 2006 Share Posted October 27, 2006 If the breaker box is in your garage putting in a welding outlet is trivial, though the cost of the larger guage copper wire will be a bit high now days. For my shop I will have the welder plug near the door so I can work outside on larger projects and inside on the welding table for smaller ones. 110 does limit things as you have to pull twice as many amps on the circuit as 220. We just lopped them off about a foot out from the faces of the welder, and used some heavy crimp connectors and heatshrink to attach the new ones. Welds as good as ever.
