  1. Just a quick question about anvil bases, It's my understanding that commercially produced hammers like the little giant have hollow cavities under the anvil block, yet these hammers are held in high regard for their striking power. How did the manufacturer get around the issues associated with the hollow base?
  2. what about a kerrihard style hammer, small ram weight, small footprint, and if i remember correctly, high bpm.
  3. Great build, i'ts great to see how others go about building things like this, i've got one question though, is there any advantage to using bronze bushings rather than linear bearings?
  4. G'day, i've been looking at a few photos on the net lately of the old style power hammers, particularly the LG and it apears the anvil is cast as two peices, (not including the dies) is the casting under the main anvil block (where the die is wedged in place) is that part hollow or solid cast? it's hard to tell, however i'm just interested as to the construction of these machines as i am looking to build myself a power hammer and am exploring options as to construction methods? thanx in advance for your replies ;)
  5. g'day, does anybody have any info on Australian made (sydney) BK anvils? there is one for sale near where i live, 280lbs however they want too much for it. i would like more info to decide if it is worth persuing. cheers! :D
  6. Larry, that would be great to see the build, i am looking forward to it. HWHII, i will PM you as soon as i can work out how. thankyou both for your replies. :D
  7. g'day is there any plans available for the new style kinyon?
