  1. WL smith, did you use them in thick stock? I want to use them on hollow square tube! Sorry for the late response been out of town!
  2. Thank for the info guys!! They are reported to be case hardened and need to be driven into a correct size hole! I am attaching a forged edge to thin wall square tubing! These would look like rivet heads instead of using bolts or screws! I may have to get some and just try it!!
  3. The wife and I have attended the NW, NE and central meetings! Kind of feel like Jonesboro is a little far! My computer got zap by lightening and none of the usb ports work, so I can not get anything in or out of my computer, so no pics for now! Depending on my leg I would like to host a meeting this fall or next spring???!!! Who is hosting the meeting at the Ozark Folk Center on August 9th, I might be able to help, if they need anything!?
  4. The leg is healing, almost the worst of it is... I have always wanted a rock forge, finaly got it finished with a Hofi style side draft and great bellows (worked with bellows for years, like it better than a blower) One (#1) fire and forged one item! Two days later broke the leg in three places... haven't been able to get near it since!!! Sorry didn't mean to hijack!!!
  5. I am new to the BOA group but not to smithing in general! Used to be a big pain in the SWABA group in New Mexico! Unfortunatley, I have seem Thomas in that outfit! :D Hoped to be at Rust Wheels this weekend but am still gimping around on a broken leg! <_< Arkie and Woodz, glade to see others in this area on here! Somone to watch for!!
  6. Charcoal likes a deep fire, the fire will spread to all of the charcaol on the froge if not kept under control (water)! Looks like it should work! You can always set more brick on their sides, on top of the angled ones, to get more height=deeper fire! Love the can adapter/reducer!!!!! I would suggest turning the forge so the other end is nearest the anvil! It will protect the air hose... sooner or later you will drop a red hot piece of steel... it will go through that hose and not even slow down, and happen at the worst time!
  7. Everyone says buy factory punches for the press!!! Buy from where/who???? press dies in bing..... thousands of hits!!!!!
