  1. Howdy all...does anyone know of a good source for heavy wire scale brushes? The big square kind is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hey all, Thought I would post about a 25 lb Little Giant I saw for sale. I do not know the seller, or had any contact with him. I saw the for sale ad in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Craigslist. Under the 'tools' section. He is asking $2500 and it is located in north central Arkansas. Just wanted to give a heads up if anyone is looking for one in that area. J. Alan
  3. Hi Ken, Yes..it does have a 3 digit number up there. I just assumed it was some type of ID number or something for someone who used it, etc. I did notice that there did seem to be a seam of some type around the middle of the waist area. I will see what that three digit number is tomorrow. This one is about a 170 something pounds, I know it's stamped on the same side as the logo. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. I've got about $150 at most in this thing, so I'm happy with it!
  4. thanks for looking it up for me Chad!! AIA is on my wish list too :)
  5. Hi All, I have a Hay Budden anvil that I was wanting someone to look up for me if possible? The serial number is 201238 Lemme know what you find! Thanks!
  6. Hi All, I've got an opportunity for a OHSS shoeing anvil. I wanted to know a little more about these, and my googling is running me in circles! Can anyone give me some more feedback on these? Are they pretty good for general smithing? Are they welded steel tops or cast steel? I'm looking for a lighter anvil that I can transport easier if I were to start working some craft shows, demos, etc. I currently have a 200 lb Trenton or HB (not sure on this one) and a 170 lb Hay Budden in the shop. Attached is a small pic of the OHSS anvil, 77 lbs, very nice shape. Thanks!
  7. Anyone else know of any coal sources in Arkansas that may be a bit closer? Those previously listed are around 4 hours from me... I'm hoping to find something in Little Rock, Jonesboro area maybe? Thanks!
  8. Hi All, I know this question is asked all the time, I did try searching all the forums and came up empty. So forgive me if this has been asked one time too many! I'm looking for a blacksmithing coal source in Arkansas. More specifically in the Northeast Corner, a couple of hours from Memphis. Any ideas? Thanks in advance... J. Alan
  9. Hi Billp, Tell me more about the class at the Metal Museum if you can? I have been thinking about going to some of those, my shop will only be a couple of hours away, but I have kinfolk in Memphis I can stay with. Thanks! J. Alan
  10. That'll keep the sun and rain off! looks great!
  11. Hi Thomas, Northeastern part of the state, little town called Hardy. Grew up in that area, out in the hills. Lived in Jonesboro for about 20 years after high school. That NW corner where you are from has changed a lot lately, place is growing so fast it is bursting at the seams!
  12. Yeah...sorry about the pic size! LOL..used my wifes Canon digital SLR, and on my PC, I don't have any image editing software on it. Next time I'll stick with my Mac! Going to pick up the anvil today. I much appreciate all of your input! I will update my profile information as well, thanks for pointing that out! I'm originally from Arkansas and plan on moving back there soon, but currently in Houston Texas area. Thanks again everyone! J. Alan
