I Forge Iron

IMG-1534.JPG

Mike Kernor

I really like to know the history of anvils and enjoy working on same tools, knowing centuries of our ancestors did so establishing America. These tools founded our country..and were also used same in many wars and battles through out time.

This anvil I have is definitely colonial and has no step. It has a makers name which appears to be J. Telley or Tilley with the weight at 1.3.8. I weighed it it at around 202 #.  It also has 3 ( mouse hole) square handling holes  one on each end below the horn & waist and one in the middle bottom.  The pritchel hole looks new next to the hardy hole and maybe wa put in later ? Any feedback is great fun and much appreciated
