SISCo Superior Swedish anvil 280lbs

liamh

I recently bought this anvil; the brand is Sisco Superior from sweden, made around 1900. After some research I found that this anvil was an upper level quality anvil made out of swedish steel which was at the time the most advanced. The anvil was bought new from a zinc smelting factory in IL. After the factory closed down the anvil was taken by one of the workers who sold it to the man I bought it from. I completely restored the anvil; there was trace amounts of an earthy green paint on the anvil, so I painted it green. I filled in minor dents on the edges and face, and ground the face flat. This 280 pound beauty is my favorite piece in my shop.
