Carpet bags

Mike Ameling

Occasionally I sew up some mid to late 1800's carpet bags for the cowboy/old west guys.

Ive been needing a bag like this to use frequently... b/c to me, they are timeless. The time has come to make one myself using my stash of upholstery scraps. Step 1 is finding a source for the frame with hinge. If you are willing to discuss, I can see that I would be getting tips from a real pro! Gorgeous work! Robin in NC

I have been wanting one of these for years. If I send you my fabric what would you charge me to make it?  VERY serious!

Lynn, Mike most recently posted on this forum 13 years ago (2009).  You might send him a private message by clicking on his avatar and see if he responds.  I see there are many carpet bags for sale on the internet and some of them have the same hinged frame as shown in Mike's.

Good luck.
