Thank you for bringing that up!

I installed it earlier today as a trial.
Consider it a way to thank users and give them a reputation based on good posting with good information.

Might remove it, depends how well it's used.

Just seemed to get in the way of reading posts for me; could there be a method of incrementing a person's tallys without posting to the thread?

I am pretty much taking them as a joke......how many thanks can you get???? LOL.

Either way thanks or no thanks I will give credit where it is due by posting it or clinking the thanks button.

But I do see the distraction factor...

Am sure I have thanked a few people and have likely been thanked in return. Seems a little silly to me running a tally. Was raised to say please and thank you. Just my opinion. Thanks but no thanks.

reputation measurements like these can be useful within a certain context, Ive also seen these systems reduced to mutual admiration societies as well

Ive seen them done in several ways, when I was a BB admin we didnt have a defined automated system, but often employed custom titles for certain members that held specific expertise.

They do provide a clue to helpfulness if not necessarily expertise. IMO I like them, provided they don't burden Vbull. (Which is why we didn't employ it but there where +50K members)
