How are future blacksmiths learn to properly swear and scratch their privates if we don't teach them?......Your friend, Clang
This is why blacksmiths attend hammer-ins, to further their education in the craft.

That's as good a way as any to drive customers away Clang, and the reputation you will get from those practices will spread like wildfire. I know of no self respecting smith who would ever condone such things.

I think it was the American Farriers Association that put out a study years ago. In the top ten reasons why horse owners stopped useing a farrier, Swearing and spitting were included.

Thumbs up

Some of the finer people I have ever met were smiths and they prescribed to a very "old-school" mentality. Morality and education. You can never stop learning, because you can't know it all. If you are aren't well behaved, you won't be invited back for more lessons.
That has been my experience, I consider myself very lucky for the patience others have shown me. Also, blacksmithing is very real, not a lot of pretending going on. I like that.

I just wanted to hop in and Thank you one more once for everything you do Glenn. I greatly appreciate it and I know everyone out there who is an avid metalworker, or even a hobbyshop blacksmith like me, appreciates it too...It's been a long time and I'm glad to be back on here...

Rules are just that , RULES. My feeling is those who can't follow them should find someplace else to be obnoxious.
