Default IFI Donation Drive 2008

IForgeIron is visited by over 50 world wide countries each month and has over 3,200 registered members. IForgeIron has over 600 Blueprints (how-to tutorials), over 6,200 photos in the Gallery, an active Forum, a LIVE chat (open 24 hours a day), a weekly LIVE Knife chat, a weekly LIVE Blueprint (how-to tutorial) presentation, a Blacksmithing Wiki, hosts a special forum for any blacksmithing group or organization anywhere in the world, and actively supports the blacksmithing and metal working communities.

IForgeIron takes no advertising. The only income to the site is from sales in the IForgeIron store, or the items donated and sold in the IForgeIron Auction. This has been sufficient keep the bills paid, but not to expand. We have several things planned, but we need money to make them happen. So, IForgeIron is holding a donation drive to improve the site.

If you have visited the IForgeIron site and found it to be helpful, please click on the link below and donate.

I am as tight-fisted as the next man, and most of my gear is either found, made, or bargained for, but when you have the benefit of something it is appropriate to put your hand in your pocket to support it. Here's some cash Glenn. All the best and thank you.

Thank you to those that have donated thus far.

The computer that I use to operate and maintain IForgeIron was small and packed so full of information that it was having issues. The first improvement to the site was to purchase and install a larger hard drive. The hard drives have come down in price so we were able to invested the money wisely and purchased what was needed. It took the most of a day to install, move the information to the new hard drive, defrag and set things up. The difference is remarkable.

Thank you for your donations. We will keep you informed as to the improvements as they are made to the site.

IFI has done as much if not more for me than any other blacksmith affiliation. Here's something to help pay that back.

No, March of 2007 we ask for donations to purchase a dedicated server for IForgeIron. Folks came through and we have our own dedicated server located in a data center hosting the site.

The hard drive I spoke of is on the computer I use to operate and maintain the site from here. I have a full copy of the site here, and as new material arrives it is stored on this computer. The drive just got too full and was having issues. The new drive was for this computer so I could continue to operate and maintain the site.

Glenn,

Are you open to more donations for the auction? Could you give us a bit of an idea of who might be bidding? Will it be mostly smiths or others as well? It will help my head-scratching to see if I get any brilliant ideas for something I could donate (if you're open to such).

Thanks, Phil

Items donated to the site for auction are always welcome. Any member of IForgeIron is encouraged to bid on any auction item.
