Default I Forge Iron's Immediate Server Needs

I Forge Iron has been having severe down time issues lately, due to
the server we rent on a monthly basis having some major hardware
complications. The site is currently back online but the server is
still having issues they cannot correct.

This leaves us two options on the matter:
1. Rent out a more expensive server.
2. Buy our own server and locate it at a data center.

We realize the blacksmithing community depends on I Forge Iron for
information and as a means of communication with other blacksmiths in
the world. The site is currently involved in a major upgrade with the
addition of many new sections and features. We feel option one, to
rent a more expensive server, is only a short term solution and
therefore off the table. This leaves option two, to purchase our own
dedicated server.

The server will come with a one year - all parts warranty, and a three
year hard drive warranty.

The current server fund is as follows:
Amount Needed: $959
Donations from September left: $112.43
Funds from Glenn and Andrew: $200
--------------------------------------------------
Short fall is approximately $650

We are asking for donations to cover the $650 needed to purchase the
dedicated I Forge Iron server.

Thank You,
I Forge Iron

I would be willing to put up some tools for sale in the tailgating section with a portion of the sale going towards the new server. Would this be ok?

Send the donation items to the IForgeIron address at the bottom of the page. We will offer them for sale from here, with the money going toward the IForgeIron site.

And thank you for the idea and the offer.

Default Server Needs

Yes, I sent a donation via paypal a couple of days ago. The site is an important one to me and I enjoy reading every section.

There has been a stop issued for all new features of the website.

This stop will be in effect until the server is setup and ready. Hopefully this will ease the transfer process for us.

Thanks Andrew, I know it's a pain moving, much less adding something new to move, so I can appreciate your decision. I'd like to send something but was recently hit pretty hard myself and will be unable to do anything for a week or two. Even if you happen to get what you need before then i'll send it in as I'm sure it will be used towards a good cause. Good luck in the mean time, and we do appreciate all the hard work you and Glenn do.

Thanks,
James
