This is a discussion on Emergency Notification List within the Keeping You Informed forums, part of the I Forge Iron Forum category; Due to recent events, I see a need for a email list that can be used to quickly get information ...

I think that the list should only be activated in the event of death or serious injury. It may serve as well if by some reason someone has an article stolen, or other property loss (Shop Burns, tornado damage, ect..) Bare hand and hot iron do not mix Jason M. Duncan

GLENN; You can just fly this one by the seat of your pants. The obvious--Death, serious injury, large thefts. You can imagine what would have went down if we had not known of PawPaw's passing. In the event of someone running off with someones wife, daughter, kinda hold back. They make bring them back. If the blacksmith does not move without leaving a forwarding address.BOG. If the bill collectors and credit card people are coming, well that might indicate an emergency, heh heh. Good luck Chuck

Several of the blacksmithing and welding groups I belong to have a notification system, as we are so spread out. Our Criteria are; 1. Death, Serious injury or life threatening disease or operation - of an immediate family member, Mother, Father, Spouse, Child 2. Major Break in or Theft 3. Contractors or Companies who don't pay bills 4. Upcoming Shop or Equipment Sales or Auctions Most of us are not connected by Internet, so its a phone system mainly, one person notifies 3 or 4 others that are close, they notify 3 or 4, and it just keeps going till there are non left
