 Blueprints in 2008
The Blueprints (how-to-tutorials) have concentrated on the tools and jigs that can be used in metalworking. The tools and jigs blueprints will continue, and starting in 2008 the Blueprints will be expanded to include projects, artistic pieces, and things other than tools and jigs. The set up will be the same, step-by-step instruction on how to build that project. This should allow more people to participate, and create interest in creative expression. If you wish to submit a blueprint, contact me. It will be assembled, returned to you for changes or additions, and after a final review, it can be presented and posted.

After the Blueprint is presented on the Tuesday night LIVE presentation (final review), it is reviewed one more time and then posted to the Blueprints section of IForgeIron.com There are over 500 blueprints on file there already. It joins the list with it's own BPxxxx number for easy reference. This way you can direct someone to the information in just 3 hops, IForgeIron.com > Blueprints > BP0133 and they have exactly the information they need.

The Blueprints are numbered chronologically (as they are submitted) and not by subject. The blueprints can not be organized well by subject because the same blueprint may cover many different subjects, scrolls, tongs, bending tools, scrolling tongs, jigs, etc etc. The search engine searches by the key words you request. Every time that key word shows up, that blueprint is added to your list. With over 500 Blueprints on file and more being added each week, we have to use the computer to do what a computer does best, sort out information.

I have one question regarding searching through the BPs. I can only find a search (I think it is Filter) after I select a span of BPs (200-300, 400-500 etc.) Is there a way to search all of the BPs an not have to select each section then filter? OK.. I just found the search in the left menu, but it doesn't seem to be like the BP filter (seems to search the text of the site and not just the BP title) |
