I think 58 said it best. Whilst he was alive, I never thought much of what he did. The guy made me laugh, but not much else. But now he's dead, I feel sorry to see him go. He did great work behind the scenes in animal conservation, and I think he's going to be missed, at least round these parts. Incidentally, a stingray sting is not really very poisonous at all. I was stung by a small one when I was about twelve, and it wasn't much worse than a bee-sting. Apparently only two other people have died the same way in 220 years of Australian history. Steve knew the risks, was doing everything right, and was killed in a freak accident. |

Jimmy: No disrespects for Irwin at all. Just the opposit! The more I see of him inthe after Death shows and recaps of his life, meeting Terri, birth of his kids, he was a hell-of-a-guy! Sure he was goofy as hell at times, but there are times when he is the best husband, Dad and friend anyone could ever have. Also from what I've read, it wasn't the sting from the ray that killed, it was the placement of the barb, appearently right through the heart! A very freak accident. We could all wish to die doing what we love doing. Irwin, Earnheart both died while doing their passions. My prayers are with the family.
