Pete46,

I'd contact Hofi directly and see if he has any ideas.... one thing that comes to mind would be to bake the oil out in a toaster oven, but as I do not know what the head is made of, I am hesitant to recommend it......

Rub it in dirt sand or cat litter then use it. If you just gotta then acetone and or denatured alcohol rubs will penetrate and remove the oil.

Kitty litter maybe? That's what we used in the Army to clean up oil spills in the motor pool.

if you snatched it out of the tub real quick and wiped it off right away, oil would not have soaked into the handle, so it will be all right. Question would be...what was the hammer doing that close to the oil quench??
