Question new guy

I just discovered this site and it looks great. It sound like everybody here knows alot about blacksmithing. How many of you are full time Smiths?

I work full time as an artist blacksmith. I have been doing so fo about 14 years.

Howdy from East TEXAS!! and welcome to IFI! You have forund the best site for blacksmithing out there. Looking forward to reading your comments and seeing some of your work. The United States is a REAL BIG place...coule you narrow it down a little for us. Shoot, with this many folks on IFI, there may be one of us just up the street from you! Once agian, welcome.

sorry thomas dean... I live in a small town in NC called Hickory. I lived in austin texas in the late 90's, Thats where I got hooked on metal working..

Did Bill Bastas hook ya? He teaches blacksmithing at the Austin Community college. I would love to take a course from him but, alas, life just keeps getting in the way. He used to teach at Tom Clarks school also. NC is a beautiful state and there are a lot of members here on IFI from there. Good to have ya.

It wasn't Bill Bastas Thomas, Though I worked with guys that were tought by him and judjing by there skill I would say he was a very good teacher.

Welcome redanvil! I'm 16 years old and I have been smithing around two years. I'm not full time, but that is my goal. Looking forward to seeing some of your wares!

Thanx Fieryforge I just posted some pictures of a variety of projects i have worked on in the past. I don't have any recent pictures to share yet.
