Welcome to the forum.. I see this is your first post.

First off.. this should be in the Blacksmithing forum.

Also, best thing to do is use the search feature of the forum as there are already threads with information on making chain. Even a link to youtube for a video.

Forge welding is a must I posted a bit on this forum earlier today that may help you get that part down if you dont already have it down so you get a good weld every time. I geared it for welding in a gasser but coal is similiar just watch out not to burn the steel...other than a forge weld it is a matter of cutting the correct length of stock bending to shpe and scarfing the ends and welding.....make a pile of half of what you want and then join them with new links enjoy
