Default Ever wonder how anchor chain is made?

Well here is a convenient video. I always wondered what that post in the middle is for. And OH MY look at that power hammer! everyone was wondering about those HUGE tongs posted awhile back, well there they are too. Enjoy.

I am liking that "power hammer" where the two guys control that BIG ram by the long handles. That chain link roller in the first video is cool too. That Rivet job was cool too, never even THOUGHT that many strikers could be going at once, ever. That was a truly amazing video.

Thanks for those links, Sam.

I had saved #2 years ago and lost it. Haven't seen the first one before.

Watching those guys forge the anchor is mind-boggling. Kinda makes us "moderners" look like a bunch of sissies.

Hehe for sure! I was definately humbled, especially by that guy that was doing LINK AFTER LINK with his hand hammer and oliver hammer, one after the other it was so cool .

I saw that and the other video at Moony's place in QLD. Told him it'd be great to put online. Glad someone has because it blew me away the first time I saw it. Now THAT's industrial Smithing.
