Run the barrel upside down with one side proped up on a heat safe brick. When "ready" remove brick and pile dirt around the edge.

How do I properly load the wood if the barrel is upside down?

Or is it amlost on it's side?

pack your barrel. Cover with chicken wire. Invert.

Default Getting a lid

I think getting a lid would be easier. Does anyone know where to get a lid to cover a 55 gal. drum?
