LG dies?

This is a discussion on LG dies? within the Power Hammers forums, part of the Blacksmithing category; With the help of Don Hanson, I determined these are for a 100#LG. Thanks for all the replies. bruce...

With the help of Don Hanson, I determined these are for a 100#LG.

I spoke with Sid Seudmeir today and he said he didn't think these were LG made dies. They lack 3/8" in height even tho the dovetail measurements are the same So back to the drawing board. He also thought they were for making picks. This is coal country, after all :-)

if the dovetail demensions are compatable, they could still be used in a LG, as long as the total heigth measures 70% of 8" (total heigth of both dies from bottom of dovetail to face). Im sure they are within that spec.

That would be my thought,L.
I have similar dies on my Fairbanks and use the 2 different angles for drawing. Works well for me. bruce
