Oh for this one it is going to SHINE. I am a big personal fan of the hammer finish look and while a hammer finish sword is on my priorities this one is going to go to a nice 400, maybe 600 or 800 grit.

Great looking sword. Someday I'll get into forging double edged blades, but i'm still a ways away from being able to bevel both edges of a piece of metal and have it come out symmetrical.

Thanks Feukair! Trust me it is WAY easier than forging single bevels. As you go along you work both sides, and it stays automatically straight the whole time because you are spreading material along the sides equally! Here is some more in progress shots. My favorite is where only half of the blade is formed into bevels.

You know i didnt think of that, maybe i'll give it a try... When working a one sided bevel i have to keep adjusting the blade back straight.

Just form the bevel on both sides as if it were two single edge blades stuck spine to spine.

you are truely a master!! in my opinion. double bevels are something this aged man still struggles with on a regular basis.

Thank you Son! I am the complete opposite, i find single bevels to be a bit of a trick!
