The Mousehole Forge
The Mousehole Forge
by Richard A. Postman with
John and Julia Hatfield (present owners and restorers of what was the Mousehole forge.)
ISBN:0-96632561-1-3
A very good history of The Mousehole Forge in Sheffield, England, very well researched and presented. With many Photos and an indepth section on the dating of Mousehole Anvils the first premier Anvils to be mass produced and exported world wide.
In the back is a detailed description of the complete process used to manufacture a Mousehole Anvil. This alone is worth the price of the book which is only 108 pages long, but is a can't put it down read.
Be sure to check out the Wrought Iron Gates inside the front cover and the Door Knocker inside the back cover.
The Hatfields live in the restored Managers House on the premises.
