Cool SBL Pulley project.

My new SBL had a broken pulley so i made a new one from 4" CRS on my other SBL. I did all the grooving from a 1/4" HSS bit ground to a point. All that is left is the keyway and set screw...Bob

When I make pulleys I use a cut off tool to cut the center groove to depth. Set the tool to cut the angle on one side. Reset tool for the other side cut that angle. Just another way to do it.

Keep on turning

cutoff tools must be set as short as possible to get the job done, even then i find mine chatter alot. I will only plunge cut with them as i dont want to break them off. Pulley looks great!
