Default wanting to learn

hello just starting and would like some advice as to building a forge t my home for making knives and swords as a hobbie to pass the time

chefknife,welcome to Iforgeiron!

On the front page,there are sections titled "Getting Started" and "lessons in Metalworking". These will get you started and contain much information.

And if you have questions, just ask.....

Welcome aboard. Remember that forging knives and swords are an art to themselves based on blacksmithing. Not the place to start but a worthy goal.

We'll be more than happy to help you getting into the craft though bladesmithing is a couple steps above basic smithing and a tough place to break in.
