Default welcome

you found the right sight to explore "artistic", anything from knives to building forges, a welding background can work for you and against you in blacksmithing, especially if you intend to learn forge welding, but it is a fun journey, good luck!1

Welcome aboard.

I thought I'd been welding a long time. WOW!

As Mike says there are pluses and minuses to being a pro weldor breaking into smithing. The best part is being familiar with fabricating stands, equipment and such.

The negative side is having too high an expectation of holding tolerances. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of precision to be had smithing it just isn't always arrived at in quite the same way or to the same degree.

If you'll click on "User CP" at the top of the page and edit your profile to show your location us old folks won't be able to forget where you are.
