Default This little girl needs lots of prayers

Ainslee, Seagraves, TX is in need of your prayers. Her parents are friends of my Daughter and her husband. She was born with congenital heart defects and has had several surgeries. She is facing another very difficult one in October. I have copied the latest post from her care page. Please pray for Ainslee, her mom Niki, her dad Jay and her little brother Slade.

"Hi all. I know you have been waiting for an update about our visit with the surgeon the other day; sorry we’ve been REALLY busy. Jay, Ainslee, and I left our house to head to the airport at 6:30 Tuesday morning and arrived back home at 11:00 pm Tuesday night. It was a VERY long day. A big thank you to Nelly, Steve, Blain & Grandad for keeping Slade that day, we are so very grateful. Ainslee did pretty well that day, she cried A LOT because she missed her baby brother and I think she has a clue that something is up, she watched a movie with her earphones on while we visited with Dr. Frazier and was very well behaved.
So the appointment was very informative. First let me say, we really like the surgeon, Dr. Frazier he was a nice guy and very knowledgeable. He answered most of our questions before we even asked them. He is a faithful person and he acknowledged all our concerns and we felt a little better after our visit. (As good as you can feel, I guess.) He has seen cases similar to Ainslee’s though he stressed that she is a very unique case. I will try to explain and answer a few questions that we talked about and if you think of anymore that I don’t cover, e-mail me. Yes, surgery is necessary. He said that even if she weren’t having symptoms, which she is, he would still say we need to do something now while we can. The surgery is expected to take all day, it could be 10-12 hours, the first few hours will be getting in there (they think she has a lot of scar tissue and they are concerned that she may have “pockets” of infection, where the infection from before may have sealed itself off in a pocket and is just there, dormant, but may come out when they open her, then they will have to change their course.) Once they get in there they will look and see what their possibilities are in reunifying the left lung. They have 3 options. One is that in the previous surgical notes, it says there was clip put on an artery, they will see if it is the lpa and follow the scar tissue to see if it meets back up. Then they will put in a vein that they will make out of her tissue, if there's enough, and try to attach it, in order to get blood to flow to it, they will either shunt to it, which will have to be removed later, or they will insert a stint or cath her every couple of months and dilate it with a balloon trying to get it bigger. If they can not reunify the lung, they will leave it as to not develop some of the other complications she would have without it. So far that’s the plan on that. The valve replacement might be a Contegra valve (a cow’s jugular vein valve), or a cadaver valve. They will put one larger than what most 4 yr olds would need, because Ainslee’s vein is so big and hopefully they won’t have to replace it for 5-10 years.
They are not sure how Ainslee will do, they are hopeful because she fought so hard the last time, but it is going to be a hard surgery on her. There are things they will not be able to fix this time because as he said she already has a “triple whammy” against her. And they will address some things later. There are the usual risks which I’m sure most of you know: death, stroke, bleeding out, etc and there is the possibility that when the try to reunify her lung, it could paralyze her diaphragm. So please please pray that she makes through the surgery and the complications. Okay, I can’t think of what else I wanted to say. (This has already taken me hours to write) If I think of something else I will add it later and I will tell you about our weekend in Ruidoso later also. The surgery is still scheduled for the 16th unless she gets sick before then. we hope this finds you and yours all well and good. We love you all."

Thanks

Woody

Jesus my brother, you love the little children and one of yours needs help. Send Ainslee your love and fill her with hope. Give the doctors the knowledge and skill needed to attain your goal. You said when two or more of your flock gather together you would hear our prayers and the chain of smiths is long. Together with our fathers love goes ours...Ahmen.

LORD, YOU are Holy and worthy of all our praise. YOU are the TRUE HEALER and I know YOU are still in control. We ask that YOUR healing hand be on little Ainslee now and that you guide the Drs. as they attend her. Give comfort and strength to her dear parents, let them feel YOUR presents during this time. But above all, may YOU be Glorified in all this. Amen.

Ainslee had a small cavity in a tooth, but she could not have surgery with the cavity. Niki and Jay had a hard time finding a dentist who would treat a little girl with a heart condition but thankfully one was found in Hobbs, NM. God works in mysterious ways. This is the latest update from Niki, Ainslee's Mom.

"No more cavity!! A wonderful dentist, Dr. Shoemaker in Hobbs, fixed Ainslee's tooth. It was just a small shallow cavity and he didn't have her numb her or anything. She did wonderful!! Her allergies are still bothering her, I took her to the doc yesterday, and he said it's just her allergies and she should be fine. Mommy, Ainslee and Slade all received flu shots yesterday too. So that's that. Quartine is not fun, but tomorrow I hope to finish the laundry and start getting things organized to go.
We are 1 week from surgery and I can't even put into words how we feel. Maybe later... Just trying to function...
Anyway, my kids are in bed and I'm exhausted, I will write later. BTW, thanks to Amber and Loudene for helping to find the dentist. "Because we can't call people with out wings angels, GOD gave us the word FRIEND"
