Several of my friends have kin in the war zone so what's one more name to the list. Tough on the family to have the old man gone though. God be with you all.

We'll keep your Dad and all serving in our prayers. I have a son in the army. Currently he is stationed in Anchorage and is scheduled to deploy to Iraq in January. He has had a couple of posts on the site (SoldierSpud)....

My sincere thanks to your dad and your family for serving our nation. I pray daily for our troops and will add your dad and his family to the list of those I name individually.

Golden Eagle ... My thoughts are with your Dad and all others serving in a conflict area. I wish them all a safe and speedy tour and return home. Milt

Golden Eagle, if it is any consolation to you I have seen in depth studies of casualties in the military and if you follow the math the chances of anything bad happening are quite low.
Out of x amount of people in harms way only a very small number gets hurt at all and the number of worse is considerably lower. Really.
There is nothing to speed the time though, unfortunately you must wait it out.
Out of the total number of our folks sent overseas in the past five years, a huge number, only a very very small percentage of the whole has not come home and that is the truth, nevermind the mainstream U.S. media's hype and fearmongering.
God bless him and all of our troops, active, reserve, retired and former.
We are a nation because of them.
Dan
