Default I'am looking for a used anvil and post vice.

I live in the Netherlands. Does anyone of you have an address of somebody
here in my neighbourhood who does sell equipment for blacksmithing?

I'am a rooky still in your trade. But seriously committed.

Thanks in advance for trying to help me.

You don't need a post vise right as you start. I've been smithing for six-seven months and I still use a mechanics bench vise(the kind you can get at any hardware store), and for an anvil you just need a hunk of steel bigger than your hammer(try a tractor weight, its big, heavy, and if you live in the country side- easy to come by.), Other than that good luck and keep at it!

Golden Eagle,
Thanks for your tip.
We have tractors plenty here. The mechanical vice I already have, an old- but heavy one. Now I have to make a simple forge.

Good weekend.

Hi Frank

I'll look into Marktplaats. However I do not have much trust in this Webmarket.
I hear too often about cheating.
Thanks for your reply.

Good weekend to you,

Are there antique stores there?

How about welding/fab shops? Maybe you could stop and ask there.

Farm type auctions?

Good luck with the search.

You could also see what Blacksmiths are listed in your region - there was one near me who fabbed everything due to costs & demand, they said. There was a forge, anvil & some tools in a corner but according to them they never got used.
Find someone like that & they may be open to offers, although they'd likely know the value of the items.
